What’s so unique about a Y summer?
When school’s out, it’s time to relax, decompress, and have fun with friends. Yet taking a break from school does not mean kids’ development is on vacation. Summertime at the Y focuses on the three key drivers of impact that inspire healthy youth development journeys: achievement, relationships, and belonging.
Through Y summer programs, the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of all youth are nurtured and celebrated, resulting in the BEST SUMMER EVER.
The purpose of Summer Day Camp at the YMCA of North Central WV is to help youth grow spiritually, mentally and physically. YMCA Day Camps give young people an experience that can last a lifetime and inspire them to continue involvement with the Y for years to come. Our fully licensed summer day camp provides a fun, nurturing experience in a safe, secure environment.

When does the 2024 Summer Day Camp experience begin?
The tentative 2023 dates are June 3rd-August 16th.
What are the daily camp hours?
Camp is held weekly, Monday through Friday. Camp activities begin at 8:30 am and conclude at 4:30 pm each day. The daily drop-off time begins at 7:00 am. Pick-up time concludes at 5:30 pm.
What will my kids be doing?
Your kids will be involved in a number of exciting activities. Crafts, outdoor adventures, play time, educational activities, and more! The best way to find out is to enroll your child – or children – today!
What is the age range accepted for Summer Day Camp?
We have four age groups with specialized counselors for each age group:
Little Explorers – Ages 3 to 5 (Limited to 14 campers)
Adventurers – Grades K to Age 7
Voyagers – Ages 8 to 9
Challengers – Ages 10 to 12
What is the financial cost for summer day camp?
Member: $100 per week, per child plus a registration fee of $25
Future Member: $110 per week, per child plus a registration fee of $25
Though camp is actually 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., we don’t charge for pre-camp and post-camp supervision with drop off as early as 7:00 a.m. and pick-up as late as 5:30 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided to all campers.

Please label everything with first and last names! No cell phones allowed. Also, all children must wear tennis shoes. No sandals or flip flops permitted!
