Volunteering is a demonstration of caring for others. You’ll find it at the heart of the YMCA. No matter what your special talents, interest and schedule are, you can help change someone’s life at the YMCA. The Y offers people a chance to get involved in community life by running programs, making policies, raising money and solving neighborhood problems. By giving time to others volunteers also give themselves a chance to learn, grow and have fun.

Endowment Fund

The Harrison County YMCA has been around since 1966 and continues to touch the lives of many youth, adults, families and senior citizens. Youth is a time when values are learned and developed. It's a time when the importance of honesty, courage, self-reliance and cooperation, values that carry over into adulthood and beyond, are learned. These values are part of the heritage of the Harrison County YMCA Since youth is a time of promise, that promise can be fulfilled through programs and services for young and for the young at heart. A gift to the YMCA's Endowment Fund can ensure a promising future for children of all ages. Endowment income will become increasingly more important in the YMCA's future. The continuing growth and development of the YMCA is the responsibility of area residents who are the guardians of the Y's high ideals: ideals of honesty, integrity, courage, vision and faith. The cost of maintaining and operating YMCA programs and facilities, which help to build these ideals has increased over the years. Presently, most of the Y's income comes through annual donations, fees, and United Way appropriations. To ensure fiscal stability, an Endowment Fund has been established. As the Endowment Fund grows, so will the security of the YMCA's future. The size of a gift cannot be measured in dollars. The value will also continue to compound. This will multiply the numbers of people who can be reached by the YMCA. Anyone who contributes to the YMCA Endowment und becomes a member of the "YMCA Heritage Club". One can become a member of the Heritage Club by making a cash donation, by including the YMCA is a will or by establishing a charitable trust. It you make a contribution to the YMCA Endowment Fund, please notify the YCMA so that your name can be added to the "YMCA Heritage Club" roster.
